Bulkcarrier

A bulkcarrier transports the raw materials of this world, such as iron ore, coal or grain. At the same time with the current rise of prices for raw materials, also the transportation of bulk moved sharply in focus. In the autumn of 2007 ship prices and charter rates for bulk carriers increased to an historic all-time high. Bulk is also the main part of the world's transported goods.

Similar to tankers a bulkcarrier need a high loading capacity in relation with a low rate on design draft.
